What does the SecAI+ voucher include?
Every Mindset Cyber SecAI+ voucher, whether the A$399 + GST (A$438.90 inc. GST) single or the A$499 + GST (A$548.90 inc. GST) voucher with Retake Assurance, is an exam voucher, not a course. Here is exactly what that covers.
- One official CY0-001 attempt. The current SecAI+ exam (Version 1), a maximum of 60 questions in 60 minutes, mixing multiple-choice and performance-based items.
- 12-month validity. You have a full year from purchase to book and sit, so you can buy now and study at your own pace.
- Pearson VUE or OnVUE. Sit at any Australian Pearson VUE test centre, or online from home via OnVUE.
- A GST tax invoice. Issued with a valid Australian ABN, which is what most finance teams need for reimbursement.
- Email delivery within 24 hours. The voucher code arrives by email, usually much sooner.
Neither voucher includes training, whether you buy it from Mindset Cyber or from CompTIA. Retake options: is Retake Assurance worth it?
The Voucher + Retake Assurance option from Mindset Cyber is A$499 + GST (A$548.90 inc. GST), against A$399 + GST (A$438.90 inc. GST) for the single voucher. For the difference, the same voucher covers one retake of the same exam version if your first attempt does not pass, within its 12 months and before CompTIA retires that exam version.
The maths is straightforward. If you buy the single voucher and fail, a fresh Mindset Cyber voucher costs another A$399 + GST (A$438.90 inc. GST), so a fail without the safety net roughly doubles your exam spend. The difference you pay up front for Retake Assurance is far less than that, which makes the voucher with Retake Assurance worthwhile insurance when there is real doubt about a first-attempt pass.
The honest flip side: if you are already scoring consistently above 85% on fresh practice questions, a retake is unlikely, and the single voucher is the cheaper, sensible choice. Buy the safety net for the doubt, not by default.
What is the full cost of getting SecAI+ certified?

Most disciplined candidates land near the lean end, because the free objectives and free practice test are enough to pass. Cost rarely tracks with the pass rate, so spend on paid study only where you have a genuine weak spot.

SecAI+ is the cheaper of the two exams from Mindset Cyber, and it is cheaper to maintain once you hold it.

Is SecAI+ worth the cost?
SecAI+ launched on 17 February 2026 with a roughly three-year exam life, so sitting it now puts you among the earliest holders of a vendor-neutral AI security credential. That early-mover position is the value: as organisations rush to secure the AI systems they are deploying, a recognised signal that you can do that work is scarce, and scarcity is where certifications pay back.
The exam content backs that up. Securing AI systems is nearly half the blueprint at 40%, with the rest split across AI concepts, AI-assisted security, and AI governance, risk and compliance. That is a specialist skill set employers cannot easily verify any other way yet, which is exactly why an inexpensive, credible exam is worth sitting sooner rather than later.
Against a total spend that often lands under A$500 for a disciplined self-studier, the return on a credential that opens AI security work is among the strongest on the market in 2026.
