Where it fits in the US
Why US organisations use it
The NIST Cybersecurity Framework comes from NIST, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, and version 2.0, published in February 2024, is the reference many US organisations use to structure a security programme, from small businesses to federal agencies and their suppliers. It often sits alongside SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 when those organisations show customers how they manage security. This course certifies you as an implementer.

Frequently asked questions
Does the price include the PECB exam?
Yes. US$485 covers the official PECB Self-Study course materials, the exam voucher, remote proctoring and the certification fee. There are no separate exam fees.
Is this course PECB eLearning or PECB Self-Study?
It is PECB Self-Study: the official PECB course materials on myPECB, studied at your own pace, without video lessons. US$485 is the price for this Self-Study course, charged in US dollars, and it includes the PECB exam voucher, two exam attempts, the certification fee, the first year of PECB certification maintenance and 12 months of access. What PECB eLearning and Self-Study each include.
How many exam attempts are included?
Two. Your first sitting is included, and if you do not pass, your second attempt within 12 months is included too.
Are there any additional fees?
Not from us. US$485 is charged at checkout, in US dollars. The one ongoing cost is PECB's own Annual Maintenance Fee, which the PECB Certification Maintenance Policy sets at USD 390 per certificate for each three-year cycle and which keeps the credential active. Your first year is already included in the course price, so that fee starts in year two and is paid to PECB directly.
How long does the course take?
About 30 to 40 hours of self-paced study of the official PECB course materials, the content of a five day course. Your access lasts 12 months.
What is the exam format?
Three hours. It is remote-proctored: you choose one of the scheduled online exam sessions in myPECB and sit it from home or the office.
Is the certification recognised in the US?
Yes. PECB is an international certification body, and the credential is the same certificate wherever you sit the exam.
Do I need experience before I enrol?
There are no formal prerequisites, though practical cybersecurity experience and familiarity with risk management concepts help you get the most from the course. The full credential requires five years of general work experience, two of them in cybersecurity, and 300 hours of cybersecurity programme experience.
Who am I buying from?
Mindset Cyber, an authorised PECB training partner based in Australia. The course, the materials and the exam are PECB’s own and are identical wherever you enrol. You are charged in US dollars and supported by email.
